Privacy Policy

Business listing data: name, address, phone number, hours, website, rating, review count, and photos, sourced from publicly available business information (including Google Business Profile data) and, once a listing is claimed, from the contractor directly.

Contractor account data: the mobile number you verify during claiming, your consent to be contacted at that number, services and photos you add, and payment information if you subscribe (handled by our payment processor — we don’t store full card numbers ourselves).

Homeowner usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, and similar interaction data, collected automatically as you browse the directory.

Information you submit: your email address and project details when you use the renovation budget tool or send a project brief, and your name, phone number, and question when you use our chat assistant.

• Operate and display the directory, including listing pages and search/filter results
• Verify a contractor’s authority to manage a listing, and secure their account
• Send account-related, verification, and (with consent) service-related calls and texts — including through automated or AI-assisted systems — as described in our SMS Terms
• Process subscription payments and maintain billing records
• Improve the directory’s accuracy, search relevance, and features
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We share information with the service providers that make the directory work, including:

• Payment processing (Stripe) for subscription billing
• Calling/texting infrastructure (e.g. Twilio) for verification and, with consent, other outreach
• Mapping and business-data services (Google Maps/Places)
• Data storage and hosting providers
• AI-assisted voice and chat tooling used to power verification calls and, for Premium/AI-website subscribers, the AI website’s chat and voice features
• Email and postal delivery providers, for the messages and mailers we send
• Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Ahrefs) that help us understand how the site is used

Separately from service providers: when you ask us to send your project brief to matched contractors, your email and project details go to those contractors so they can reply to you directly — that’s the point of the feature, and we only do it when you ask.

We don’t sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are used only to send the messages described in our SMS Terms.

We use cookies and similar technology for core site functionality (like keeping you signed in) and for analytics — Google Analytics sets cookies that help us understand site usage in aggregate. We don’t use cookies for third-party ad targeting.

We retain listing and account information for as long as a listing is active or an account exists, and for a reasonable period after to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.

If you’re a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion of it, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
