Terms of Service

Vera Home is a directory of home service contractors (electricians, HVAC, plumbing, and roofing companies) serving the San Fernando Valley. Homeowners use it to find and compare contractors. Contractors can claim, manage, and optionally subscribe to a premium tier for their listing.

Listings are sourced from publicly available business information (including Google Business Profile data) and, where a business has claimed its listing, information the business itself provides. We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate but don’t guarantee that any listing — claimed or unclaimed — is complete, current, or error-free. If you believe a listing is inaccurate or should be removed, use the correction/removal request on the listing page or contact us directly.

A business representative may claim a listing by verifying a phone number they control and completing the claim flow. Claiming a listing is an assertion that you are authorized to manage that business’s presence on Vera Home. Submitting a false claim, or claiming a listing for a business you’re not authorized to represent, is prohibited and may result in the claim being reversed and the account suspended.

A website (either your own or one purchased through Vera Home) is required to maintain an active public listing, as described at the point of claiming.

The “Verified by Vera Home” badge reflects that a business verified ownership of its listing by phone during the claim process and holds an active Vera Home Premium subscription (see our Verification Standards). The badge is removed if a subscription lapses. A badge is not a warranty or guarantee of the quality of any contractor’s work, and Vera Home is not a party to, and assumes no liability for, any transaction between a homeowner and a contractor.

Vera Home Premium and the AI website product are paid subscriptions/services billed on the cadence disclosed at checkout (currently $297/year for Premium; $247/month for the AI website, with any then-current setup-fee promotion applied at signup). Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; by subscribing, you also agree to that processor’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect as described at cancellation. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

If you provide a phone number and consent during claiming, we (and, for verification and account purposes at scale, automated or AI-assisted systems acting on our behalf) may call or text that number. See our SMS Terms for details, including how to opt out.

You agree not to: scrape or bulk-extract listing data beyond normal browsing; submit false, fraudulent, or defamatory information about any business; attempt to claim a listing you’re not authorized to manage; interfere with or disrupt the Service; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

The Vera Home name, logo, and site design are owned by us. Business names, photos, and other content submitted by contractors remain that contractor’s property; by submitting content you grant us a license to display it as part of the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DON’T WARRANT THAT LISTINGS ARE ACCURATE, THAT ANY CONTRACTOR’S WORK WILL MEET ANY PARTICULAR STANDARD, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERA HOME WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY DEALINGS WITH A CONTRACTOR OR HOMEOWNER FOUND THROUGH IT.

We may suspend or terminate a listing or account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent claims, or conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the directory.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Placeholder — confirm venue/arbitration approach with counsel.]

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
