Every business that claims a listing verifies by phone that they actually own and operate it — that check happens before any listing can be claimed at all. Verified by Vera Home is what a claimed listing gets the moment it becomes a Vera Home Premium member: real ownership, backed by a real, active subscription. When a homeowner sees this badge, it means both of those are true right now.

If a subscription lapses

The badge is tied to an active Premium subscription. If a business's subscription ends, the badge comes down and the listing looks like any other claimed listing — never a "revoked" or downgraded treatment.
